In addition to our services for private and commercial customers, we supply and fit medical adaptations for local authorities, including the Social Work departments of North and South Lanarkshire Councils, East Renfrewshire Council, and City of Glasgow Council. These adaptations range from the fitting of quarter-turn lever taps to larger adaptations such as level-access / walk in showers, wet floor areas and Clos-o-mat toilets.
We also undertake adaptations for private clients. Whether you are a social work client or a private client please feel free to visit our Rutherglen showroom to view examples of level-access showering or contact us to request a quotation for additional private works to your adaptation such as basin or WC renewal, additional tiling, etc not covered by your grant.
If you are disabled or have a chronic medical condition then your home can be adapted to make life easier for you. If you are assessed as having a priority then there are council grants available of at least 80% of the costs for structural changes to your home, for example replacing a bath with a shower. Your first point of contact should be your local Social Work department. Generally once the Council's Occupational Therapists have assessed your needs you will be required to get estimates from the council's approved list of companies. The Council will then award the grant based on those estimates and it is your decision which company to employ to carry out the work. You will be able to have additional works, which you fund yourself, carried out at the same time without affecting the grant.
